The court theater, once founded by Goethe, today offers a repertoire of opera, drama and concerts ranging from classical to contemporary works.

The duke bought it for Goethe to bind him to Weimar. The poet lived in it until he moved to the Frauenplan. It always remained his haven close to nature.

One of the most important testimonies of classical Weimar: Johann Wolfgang von Goethe lived here for almost 50 years. Today, largely the condition from Goethe's last years of life can be visited.

In 2018, the Weimar City Palace will enter the central phase of its general renovation. From July 2, 2018, until probably the end of 2023, the palace museum is therefore completely closed.

The "Green Palace" was converted by Anna Amalia into a library and a unique ensemble of book collection, art collection and architecture. The Rococo Hall is world famous.

The City Museum shows changing exhibitions and a permanent show on Weimar's history from the first evidence, early settlement beginnings through the Weimar Republic until 1990.

An elegant pleasure palace that Duke Ernst August had built for himself and the most important of his 20 or so hunting and pleasure palaces. Today it is a popular destination for excursions.
